Monday Morning Design Wall 4/8/2013

Well, I had a great couple of weeks!  My two younger boys just got back from New Mexico and a week long church trip where they were repairing houses on an Indian reservation.  They both came home with stomach flu but they said they had fun before they got sick! I was able to get the body of my son's high school graduation quilt done but meanwhile my daughter said it "Does not look like Nicolas".  So I guess I hit the design paper again and try for a more masculine quilt.  I still like it!!  But it might be better for a girl.   I also am finishing up my corners of my Baltimore Album, so close to being done!!  And below, I am frantically finishing up machine quilting My Whimsical Quilt Garden, as I entered it in Dixon Mayfair and I need to turn it in to the judging in less than two weeks!!  I picked a basket weave background and it is taking quite a bit of time to do 24 blocks and a detailed border!!  I may have to skip the beading on this one.  Well, Happy Monday everyone and check out Judy's blog to see the rest of the walls!

  2. Yes, your whimsical quilt garden is great. Please tell me that isn't hand quilting I see there! Whatever it is it really sets off the designs.

    1. No I am just learning to machine quilt and it is a basket weave pattern on a half in grid! Lots of work but makes the applique pop!

  3. Your quilting (and applique) is great. I like the first quilt, and think it is masculine. You seem to be doing a good job at keeping all projects afloat.

  4. I think Nicolas's quilt is just fine! I don't think it looks like YOU, I'm so used to your Baltimore quilts now! Your quilting looks amazing!

    1. It lacks the ability to personalize it, which I did for the last round of graduation quilts I made! I would love to put his name on it but still working on that idea.
