Monday Morning Design Wall 5/2/2011

APPLIQUE LOVE!! I am so enjoying my applique project and I am planning on starting my next one by the end of the week!! The fun of putting each block together and trying out new colors is so much fun. I am hoping to finish the remaining four blocks during the week.

I was able to get so much done this weekend but did learn one important thing, to wear jeans when I use the weed wacker to trim weeds in the side yard! Live and learn!

My husband and my two younger boys were off this weekend, they left Friday night (happy, happy, joy, joy) for the BSA Camporee in Capay Valley, California. Meanwhile I was home with only my 18 year old, as he had to go tuxedo shopping for the prom, my fabric and my willingness to work until midnight on the blocks. I only wish our Boy Scout Troop camped from Friday to Sunday every month!! The troop did win the Baden-Powell Award for the 4th year in a row at Camporee, with my 13 year old on the winning team for the cooking competition and my 16 year old participating in the Order of the Arrow activities. All around a great weekend.

  2. Welcome back to Design Wall Monday. And, wonderful applique blocks. Do you actually finish appliques? just curious. Of the hand appliques I've started, I think I've finished, hum, 2! Sigh. You got a lot done by yourself.

  3. Number 10? You were on top of things this morning too! Your applique is beautiful. Hope you'll bring it tomorrow night to Spring Chicks. Your post, by the way, sounds almost exactly like my post--take a look!!

  4. Applique is addicting, isn't it? I stayed away from it until I learned about machine applique and then "tried" it last year. Oh, my, how it has changed my approach to scraps and quilts. I still love piecing but I find that I am joining several applique BOMs and really do try to keep up with all of them. Oh, my!!

  5. Very pretty blocks. I just can't do applique but I love the results. I like the occasional time to myself to create. I just don't like it all the time.
