Monday Morning Ironing Board 6/18/2012

Well, my design wall is blank thanks to my decision to stop new projects and start work on the borders for my Baltimore Album quilt.  There are multiple components, tons of leaves and flowers up and down these long mitered borders.  This will be time consuming and a bit repetitive as I have to do four, but if I just work on getting something done each and every day, I hope to have them done by the end of summer.  Then I can start hand quilting this project in the fall when it is cooler.   I prepared my pieces several weeks ago and just want to see this project done at last!!

Remember to check out Judy's blog and see what is on all the other design walls!

  1. Prepping for applique, especially long borders, is quite a task. I have only done it once and vowed never again. Probably shouldn't have said never, huh?

  2. Wow, a Baltimore Album! I'm in awe of anyone who can do that kind of applique - and has the perseverance to finish one! Good luck on the borders.

  4. I remember those beautiful blocks, Jennifer. With the speed and dedication you use to quilt, I know you will be done sooner than later. Look forward to seeing your borders.

  5. Best of luck with your border progress. It will be so fun to have the appliqué to look forward to once all the prep work is done.

  6. Getting all the prep out of the way sounds a bit wearying, but I'm sure you'll be pleased to have each block ready to go when you reach for them!

  7. I commend you for finishing projects. Can you teach me that? I totally forgot to post to DWM this morning even though I was up at 6 AM to take my hubby for minor surgery in Sac. I'm number 70-something. . .
