Monday Morning Design Wall 6/11/2012

Yea!!  I was able to get most of the leaves sewn down on my Miss Kyra quilt by Erin Russek but I still have a few left.  I am trying to think about the borders now as I am determined to make them shine!!    I just wonder what I can do with the fabric I have left!

I was also able to finish up P3 Design BOM #3, which was quite a challenge in itself.   I am going to start block #4 shortly and it is just as challenging but I am really enjoying it.

Please remember to check out the rest of the design walls on Judy's blog!

  2. I really like this take on the dresdan plate. I wish I had found it earlier as I'm making one but in the traditional block design. The applique flowers add so much freshness (as opposed to drab) and life to the quilt. Thanks for sharing.

  4. All lovely! I have Erin's pattern, but haven't started yet. Your colors are an inspiration! I'm planning on using Kate Spain's Good Fortune for another project & expect to have left over fabric to start my color palette for this project.
Btw, that flower (reverse applique?) is stunning. Thanks for linking up with Judi which enabled me to find you.

  5. Miss Kyra looks beautiful! I bought that pattern as it was for such a wonderful cause but haven't made it yet. Great fabrics! Love your beautiful applique block too!

  6. Beautiful top! You could use half fans/plate blocks in the border and do a snake border ( I hate the word snake, but you know what I mean - slithering in S's). I love your use of graduated colors in the leaves.

  7. So beautiful, Jennifer. Like Becky, I really like your use of graduated colors in the leaves. It is so awesome how you took two blocks and made such a unique quilt out of them. Love the hibiscus block also.

  10. Jennifer, you're a marvel! I went to a 3-day quilting retreat in McCloud last weekend and didn't have internet so I failed to have anything for DWM. I couldn't have competed with your post anyway!

    1. A quilt retreat! So much fun. I would love to do another one. My first/last one was a bit of a bust!! I just found out, via facebook that the designer for P3 Designs, Pearl Pereiera, is teaching a retreat in Lake Tahoe this week. Would have killed to attend that!! I am probably going to take a break soon as I need to work on the borders for my Baltimore Album and no one wants to see unending leaves for weeks at a time!!
