Monday Morning Design Wall 12/19/2011

Yes, I actually did some piecing this week but I am working on adding on some applique for the border!! I chose the pattern from the June/July issue of Quilt magazine page 61 called Skinny Dip. I thought some flowers would work well using up the remaining fabric.  I only have the upper border done but I am working on the flowers for the left hand side also.  I thought to only add two borders with flowers to the top and left hand side!  This seems light and bright, perfect for a baby girl.

I also finished up one Hawaiian block and one Baltimore Album block. These took forever to make so things seem to be moving slower and slower these days as what I work on gets more complicated!!  Dont forget to check out Judy's blog for the rest of the desing walls!

  1. You've done a great job on all your blocks. I especially like the Hawaiian one. Pat yourself on the back for getting some wonderful blocks done.

  2. I really like the quilt you are working on. The blocks are great and the idea of the applique border is perfect. And, yes, the more intricate applique you do the slower you go. I almost came to a complete stop this year doing Esther Aliu's BOM Heart's Desire. I finally stopped and will pick it up later in the new year. Good going on your blocks.

  3. Your applique blocks are SO worth the time and effort you put into them. So, did you enjoy some piecing of a non-complex design? Fun, huh?! Love the color palette and the applique flowers are perfect for it! Merry Christmas!!

  4. The top blocks are so pretty, and I can really appreciate the BA appliques, I've done quite a few myself. Nicely done.
