Monday Morning Design Wall 3/12/2012

Another week and three more blocks!  I am having a blast as I am using fabric outside of my comfort zone and just having fun with the design and the colors.  The crazier the better!  This is so NOT like me so I am having a bit of difficulty but the more I do it, the better it seems to go.  My favorite fabric is the green polka dot and the red plaid fabrics so as that goes, the flower block with the red plaid is the best yet!  Now this is the Cloth Carousel's Applique BOM but there are only 12 months in the year and 20 block patterns!   I figured I would just do them all in order and eventually hit all the blocks they pull for the BOM!  I'll just be a step ahead.

Love the pink flowers on this one, but the leaves were my favorite!!  The point of one leaf was difficult but I finally got it.  Persistence is a virtue. 

Monday Morning Design Wall 3/5/2012

YES! The last of 10 Hawaiian blocks is completed!  Now I just need to figure out a setting solution for the blocks (see below).  I am still undecided if I go ahead and make two more just to have 12 (easier to set) or just work with the 10.    Hummm....decisions, decisions.

I also started the Cloth Carousel Applique Block of the Month, which is My Whimsical Quilt Garden by Becky Goldsmith & Linda Jenkins.  Can you believe that the first block for the BOM was Block 5??  I can't start on Block 5!  I need to do them in order!   I finished Block 1 today and have block two started and am ready to get going on #3, #4 and #5!!

 Order and sense makes me happy so starting from #1 makes me happy!  I will strive to catch up and be on Block 5 when needed!

Monday Morning Design Wall 2/27/2012

Wow, I cannot belive it is almost March.  Where did this month go?  I finished another Baltimore Album block and I also finished my P3Design Mystery Applique BOM.  I think it turned out rather well. 

The boys in the family were off camping with boy scouts this weekend so I took advange of my free time and spent several hours at the gym!  I will take more yoga as it was fantastic and I need to get there more for weight lifting.  The stronger you feel, the more motivated you are to work on projects!

Monday Morning Design Wall 2/20/2012

Another week, another block!! Yippee, I am down to three bocks left on my Baltimore Album quilt (along with some rather intense borders) but so close to being done!

I also dug out my L'Twister tool and used up one of my charm packs to start a quilt.  Very small but I think I can make some borders to add to it!  Applique or not, that is the question.

Monday Morning Design Wall 2/13/2012

Yes, I finished another Hawaiian block and this is number 9 out of 10, although I might do a few more.  I had such a great weekend visiting Berkeley California to take my 19 year old son, the birthday boy on the left, out to brunch along with my wonderful husband and 17 year old son.  We had a great brunch at Skates on the Bay and enjoyed the fantastic weather.  Actually looking forward to work tomorrow as I had such a great weekend.   Remember to check out the other design walls on Judy's blog!!

Applique Thursday 2/9/2012

It has been a long couple of weeks for me so I feel like I am running behind in my projects!!  I am working on another block for my Baltimore Album block and hopefully will have much more done by next week!!   January was a rough month for quilting but February is looking up!

Monday Morning Design Wall 2/6/2012

Good Morning!!  Not much to show this week as I have been working on completing a hand quilting project and hopefully it will be done by next week.  I am working on another Baltimore Album block, putting in the stems!!  So much fun.

I would like to ask for help.  My son, in a moment of not thinking, set his Camel Back down on my new dining room chair and it leaked.  I now have a huge water stain on the chair and I have no idea what to do to get rid of it.   Any suggestions are welcome.  I have no idea what the make up of the fabric is as the table and chairs are "new to me" but the foam padding in polyester.   Some Internet sites say vinegar, others say more water.....some say detergent, some say no detergent.   HELP!
