August is almost over and I will be spending the fall adjusting to two fewer children in my house. Tough but I will just have to look forward to Thanksgiving in November when everyone will be home. I think I will work on a special family meal and look forward to some great time together. I have finally got Florabunda Block 12 done! Yippee. Time to move onto Applique Quilt Project #3 this week.
I also put together my first applique quilt top, taking a couple of weeks to finish the borders and I think it turned out pretty well. I have been thinking about the quilting pattern and I think I will handquilt it in a cross hatch or diagonal line. Simple but elegant! I love to handquilt so I can work on in during the cold winter months. I think this applique thing has become a full blown addiction and I will be seeking a 12 step progam....(step one - find pattern, step two - buy fabric......)
I am so impressed that you have finished your applique top. I've got three different one in various stages of UN-DONE! Although I have been focusing on one recently and it is getting closer. Your new block is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful block, neat fabrics! Your appliqued top is beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteLOL - I like your 12 step program, Jennifer. Your #12 block is fabulous - just like all the other ones. Ithink you are a applique master!
ReplyDeleteYou've outdone yourself with this block, Jennifer! BEAUtiful!! I think crosshatch is the way to go on the quilt, too. I think it looks so elegant and, of course, to period. Not a lot of marking either!! (Use that 1/4" masking tape and follow its edge with your needle)
ReplyDeleteYour applique projects are gorgeous!!! Absolutely bee-you-tee-full!! You should be very proud of yourself. And, I'll join your 12 step program anytime. LOL
