Monday Morning Design Wall 8/22/2011

Summer is almost over and high school starts tomorrow. One child has left, moving into his dorm for Freshman year and the second child leaves on Saturday and will be moving into her college apartment. I am 50% lighter on children and not really thrilled about it. The younger two are enjoying thier last day to sleep in as getting up tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. will be quite a shock! I did get Florabunda Block #11 done and am in the process of finishingup Block #12. Time to move onto the next project! Having a blast with applique and just love how the blocks are turning out.

  1. What a cheerful block! They're all so wonderful, Jennifer. You gave me credit (blame!) for creating the applique 'monster' you've become but if I remember correctly, I showed you my method in, like, 11 minutes and you were OFF!! I've taught others and they're not close to being as prolific as you. Yes,it seems you are Teacher's Pet.

  3. LOL! My daughter and I go back to school next Tuesday and it will be a shock to the princess! I told her that she's going to have to be up a full 6 hours earlier than she's been gettin' up all summer (grin). You'd think with all that sleep she'd be a giant instead of not bearly makin' it to 5 ft tall!

  4. This block is beautiful! I've done applique but never have the patience for a large project. I tend to have faster projects going for handwork; knitting, crocheting, embroidery. Your work is gorgeous! Toni

  7. I love this block and I think your colors are great. I have 2 kids and one is left home. It is a weird thing to have them moving out and having a more quiet house. I am already planning how to make the transition. I guess that is what happens we have to slowly get used to the idea. Good luck!
