The only times he was able to successfully remove water rings from white or cream fabrics he had to clean it with a Haitian cotton cleaner. It is possible that once the whole surface has been wet cleaned the water mark will disappear. It is a natural cleaner and spot remover that I've used successfully with quilts from removing blood, ink, coffee and old age spots. It is by Bear Thread Designs.
